The FESSTVaL campaign and the corresponding test campaign will take place in the area of Lindenberg in the east of Germany. The village Lindenberg is home to the Meteorological Observatory Lindenberg - Richard-Aßmann-Observatory (MOL-RAO) of DWD. The site is chosen given the already various existing instruments, the on site support by DWD as well as the relatively flat topography.
Moreover Lindenberg still experiences convective activity and this more frequently than many other flat regions in Germany.
